MLK Day Reflections ...
Hi Divas,
So I am reading February's Essence and for a brief moment I start reading "A Letter From The Editor" written by Angela Burt-Murray. I loved this quote from her essay so much that I had to share...
Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Fear keeps us from pursuing our dreams and from been our best. Don't let fear keep you stuck in a state of unhappiness.

Striped Sweater ...
Hey Diva-Socialistas:
I saw this picture on People.com and right away I started to think of the many ways to wear it.
My thoughts were - Sweater over jeans or sweater to mute a bright colored mini dress. You can find more stripes at Shop Bop or more sweaters at Gap.
Let me know how you would wear this sweater....

Black Nail Polish the mystery...
So, I've taken to wearing black nail polish as of late. I am rather intrigued with the color. I think not only is it very chic but it goes well with everything. Can't really imagine life without it!
I did some research and found this great NYTimes article on the evolution of black nail polish.
I love wearing my nails black. To me its so much more chic than a french or natural manicure. However, I find that whenever my nails are black I am more tempted to wear black jewelry and clothing.
